Summary of Position
The person filling this position works under the direction of the program coordinator to instruct and supervise students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical area.
Minimum Required Education
High school diploma or GED and currently licensed or hold privileges to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
Minimum Required Experience
Minimum of one year full time wage earning of experience in caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill of any age or equivalent experience AFTER becoming an LVN or RN.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Give classroom instruction as assigned by Primary Instructor. • Demonstrate skills and evaluate trainees at each skills practice session in accordance with lesson objectives. • Supervise trainees in clinical practice. • Work under direction of Primary Instructor.
Essential Job Functions • Classroom instruction following lesson objectives. • Demonstration of skills according to established criteria. • Evaluate trainees during skills practice sessions in accordance with lesson objectives. • Supervise and evaluate trainees in clinical practice. • Perform other duties as assigned by department chair. • Ability to sit for long periods of time or to walk around the campus for assigned duties.
