Summary of Position

This job supports the instructional component of the school’s mission to provide college courses leading to a degree or certificate. The Central Texas College instructor provides quality instruction and is committed to the personal development of each student.

Minimum Required Education

Masters Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education with 18 graduate hours in Speech and documented work experience.

Minimum Required Experience

Experience in post-secondary teaching is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter through education, experience, and skills. Meet all regularly scheduled classes on time an for the full class period.
Demonstrate effective classroom management providing maximum opportunity for student success. Demonstrate organization of materials presented in the classroom.
Ensure that the general and specific objectives defined in the syllabus are accomplished. Utilize varied techniques of instruction. Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on exam results. Ensure proper management and utilization of all instructional equipment, resources, and materials. Maintain accurate and complete records on each student. Participate in orientation meetings, staff development workshops, and faculty meetings relevant to assigned duties. Provide feedback to appropriate administrative staff for evaluation an d revision of curriculum. Ensure Army Education Center policies are followed. Be supportive of college policies and philosophy. Represent the institution in a positive manner as indicated by dress, decorum, and attitude.
