Summary of Position

This job requires general administrative and instructional duties that are discipline specific for the Science Department. Adjunct online instructors are responsible for record keeping, mentoring, and instruction in 12-week online classes.

Minimum Required Education

• Masters Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education including 18 graduate hours in courses related to Astronomy required.

Minimum Required Experience

• Two years teaching experience at the college level in Science and a minimum of 10 sections of science courses taught online.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to teach PHYS 1403 – Stars and Galaxies and/or PHYS 1404 – Solar System • Demonstrate a high level of verbal and written skills as well as computational skills • Must be familiar with the use of Blackboard as an online delivery platform • Ability to communicate, work, and meet online with fellow online science adjuncts
