Our long-term client relationship with Leidos Innovations has led to a need for a Software Developer II on the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) 3 at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

The Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) 3 includes sustaining engineering for flight crew equipment, pressurized cargo packing and transport hardware, non-integrated ancillary system hardware, simple payload facilities, and payload support items for deliveries to and from the space station.

The contract scope also includes determining the most efficient way to pack manifested cargo, verifying the adequacy of the cargo carriers, physically packing pressurized cargo into sub-carriers, shipping cargo to the Next Level Integrators and returning the cargo to the providers upon return. Additionally, the contract provides NASA the means to build, modify, or re-certify hardware, as needed, to support cargo transport, flight crew equipment, ancillary system hardware, simple payload facility hardware and simple payload support items requirements.

The Software Developer II will:

  • Be part of an IT organization which designs, implements and sustains software solutions supporting NASA, and the nation’s exploration of space.

  • Support the International Space Station (ISS) Program.

  • Develop and document design solutions.

  • Develop test procedures and test plans.

  • Participate in requirements, design and code reviews.

  • Develop, test and sustain software applications.

  • Present and collaborate on technical topics, business requirements, and logic analysis.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of appropriate and progressive experience; additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience.

  • Five (5) or more years of development or programming experience (C# preferred).

  • One (1) or more years of hands-on, front-end programming experience with Bootstrap and Angular.js.

  • Experience with standard web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript +JQuery.

  • Experience developing restful web API.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft development tool ecosystem: Visual Studio, TFS + git.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server.

    Preferences

  • Experience with Intermediate/Advanced SQL.

  • Experience building and deploying automation tools.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum workflow.

  • Experience with C#.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.

  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.

  • Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
