2. Experience with design, programming and maintenance and support of applications

Job Summary:

The Jr. Applications Developer is a member of the Information Technology Team. Along with the other team members, the Developer is charged with executing the Agency Plan with respect to applications development. The Developer will have certain project assignments that will include but not be limited to: designing, programming, data base development, documenting and rolling out applications. It is expected that the Developer will complete projects on time, within budget and aligned with the Agency goals.

The Developer will have knowledge of developer languages and platforms and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of IT documentation processes and controls for the applications which support and ensure the systems are current in design and technology.

Education &/or Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Applications Development and/or Support

• College or Technology degree preferred

• Proficiency in the computer and Applications used by the company

• Excellent organization and communication skills

• Vertical industry knowledge desirable

  Communication Language Skills:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Supports the Agency objectives and goals to facilitate the orderly and efficient capture, storage, processing and dissemination of information

• Routinely reports on the progress of development work for supported applications

• Design, programming, data management, documentation, maintenance and support of applications

• Adheres to policies and procedures to assure proper documentation and communication

• Develops and manages proper working relationships with internal and external clients

• Identifies and recommends emerging information technologies

• Measures contributions to benefits, particularly productivity-related, in order to ensure value is being added consistent with Agency goals

• Interfaces with external technology organizations in order to maintain personal skills

• Analyzes, designs and builds complex data storage and reporting applications

• Support company strategy and goals by facilitating completion of IT jobs and projects

• Routinely report on the progress of work

• Identify and recommend solutions for improved services

• Align with company strategy to lower costs, improve client service levels and develop new revenue sources

• Provide training and other technical support services as needed

• Be available for high priority tasks outside normal working hours

• Ability to work on multiple tasks & projects simultaneously

• Flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels
