The External Communications Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of strategies for media outreach and coverage. The External Communications Manager is responsible for elevating the image and reputation of GE Power Digital through media partnerships and brand recognition strategies to build awareness in key markets. This role will craft press releases, pitches, posts, and copy; generate coverage; and track outreach results.

Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify strategic media and outreach opportunities.
Ensure our brand and cultural identity is carried out through all PR, Marketing and Communications.
Research and develop news story ideas and draft media relations materials such as pitches, press releases, briefing materials, and coverage reports.
Create written communications such as blog posts, advertising copy, award submissions, speaking opportunities, abstracts, and Q&As.
Research and create media monitoring reports to track PR programs and GE Power Digital competitor news coverage.
Support the broader GED and GE Power communications teams on program execution Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS in English, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional relevant experience in public relations or communications, either in-house or agencyEligibility Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
Must be willing to travel a minimum of 25% Desired Characteristics:
Proven track record of generating coverage via media relations and storytelling
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management
Strong written communications skills, including impeccable copy editing.
