GN&C Modeling and Simulation Developer

We look forward to continuing that work as the prime contractor for the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) contract along with our eleven teammate companies to provide engineering, scientific and technical contract services at NASA's Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX). JETS provides products and technical services related to human operations in space through development and integration of a broad spectrum of engineering requirements. This includes human spacecraft flight and flight development products, human exploration mission planning for NASA, institution support services, and new technology development. Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a GN&C Modeling and Simulation Developer.
This position will work on the JETS Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Capture (RPOC) team developing on-orbit Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) simulations in support of Commercial Visiting Vehicle missions to the International Space Station (ISS).
The GN&C Modeling and Simulation Developer will:
Provide math modeling and simulation development, integration and testing of commercial visiting vehicle GN&C systems
Develop formal math model and simulation documentation
Identify team simulation tasks, resolve simulation related issues and assist team members.
Directly interact with the NASA customers, along with various NASA support contractors, during technical meetings and working groups.
Perform other duties as required.

A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics of Physics from an accredited school with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in Mathematics of Physics from an accredited school and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience, or a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Physics
Experience with Linux, C/C and/or Python
Experience with version control systems
Experience developing, verifying, and validating math models and simulations
Ability to apply knowledge and experience towards timely completion of technical products and services
Excellent communication and documentation skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees
Strong leadership skills
Experience with Git/GitLab
Previous experience with simulation visualization and graphics packages, particularly JSC EDGE or DOUG
JSC TRICK Simulation Environment
JEOD (JSC Engineering Orbital Dynamics) modeling package
TCP/IP socket programming
Experience in product delivery and management utilizing source code management tools
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
Orbital mechanics and GN&C principles
NASA flight operations and procedures

Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs (5% of time).
