The ideal CPRIT Program Manager candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and be able to use good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, work independently, and handle complex issues in a diverse research group. This candidate must demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint as well as be able to master institutional programs and procedures.

EstablishCPRIT TRIUMPH information on the MD Anderson internet site. Design a web pagefor the program with a description of the program, photos, appropriatedepartment links, etc.
Generateand maintain a database of top graduate programs in US and abroad in lifesciences including a contact individual that manages data on recent currentstudents and alumni.
Generateand maintain a database of top cancer researchers (NAS members, NIS members,etc.) with track record of mentoring.
Createrecruitment process for TRIUMPH postdoctoral fellows including recruitmentmaterial, advertising strategy and communications with CPRIT PI and co-PI.
UpdateCPRIT Graduate Scholar information on the MD Anderson internet site.
Updatethe application form with input from CPRIT PI and co-PI.
Advertiseavailability of annual graduate scholar fellowships via email to MD AndersonGSBS students 2 months prior to due date.
Serveas contact for submitted applications.
Compileapplications, generate excel spreadsheet list of the applicants.
Placeapplications on MD Anderson Box for selection committee.
UpdateCPRIT summer program information on the MD Anderson internet site.
Preparerecruitment/marketing materials for mailing (e.g., brochures and posters) tocareer centers, biology and chemistry departments at top ranked undergraduateinstitutions.
Updatethe application form with input from KK and SW,
Generatelink on CPRIT summer program web site to the application package
Compileapplications, generate excel spreadsheet list of the applicants
Placeapplications on MD Anderson Box for selection committee
Ensurecompletion of appropriate MD Anderson onboarding/appointment paperwork forCPRIT TRIUMPH and Graduate Scholars in collaboration with the trainees’ MDAnderson department.
Responsiblefor all aspects of the summer program appointment process
Distributehousing and city information to prospective summer students; serve as a liaisonfor summer students.
Maintaindatabase of all trainees (TRIUMPH, Graduate Scholar, summer undergraduate) thatincludes publication, meeting presentation, award, patent and grant/fellowshipinformation.
Maintaintrainee tables (NIH style) for CPRIT mentoring faculty in the TRIUMPH andGraduate Scholar tracks.
Maintaindatabase of TRIUMPH milestones.
Maintaindatabase of CPRIT Graduate Scholar committee reports.
Maintainspecific database of CURE summer program student information in CURE reportingformat.
Generateand maintain an Endnote library containing all CPRIT trainee publicationinformation (ensure publications cite CPRIT grant support); include PMID orPMCID numbers
Meetings, Journal Club and other CPRIT events
Organizeand attend monthly meetings with PI, co-PI and ERO financial support team. Keepminutes and distribute to attendees within a week of the meeting
OrganizeTRIUMPH meetings with mentoring faculty and PIs on a regular basis. Keepminutes and distribute to attendees within a week of the meeting
OrganizeTRIUMPH selection committee meetings to interview post-doc candidates
Organizemonthly CPRIT journal clubs.
OrganizeCPRIT summer poster presentation.
OrganizeCPRIT summer program event schedule.
Organizeother CPRIT events as needed (Shark Tank, Joint Baylor events, etc).
Coordinatetravel and reimbursements for CPRIT TRIUMPH and Graduate Scholars with MDAnderson departments.
Grant reporting and submission
Assistwith grant progress reports, including completion of publication, employmentand patent information on CPRIT grant management web site.
CoordinateCPRIT financial reports with ERO financial team.
CoordinateCURE reports with MD Anderson Core Grant team.
Assistin preparation of new training grant submissions to other funding agencies andfor renewal purposes through CPRIT.
The performance for all expected outcomes is measured by observation of supervisor, reports from faculty members and co-workers, the accuracy and timeliness of work produced, and the demonstrated ability to effectively work under stress.
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: Master’s degree.
Required: Five years of related program management experience.
May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience or completed years of college on a one to one basis.
With preferred degree, three years of experience are required.
